Operating system

Operating system is a collection of computer programs to control the overall operation of the computer system. It is a mediator between hardware and user through application programs.Computer hardware is a machine like other machines. Operating system or system software is designed to make control over that machine. is not an ordinary program so that there in no chances of using other programs without operating system. It establishes good relationship with hardware and makes the computer workable. Following are the some examples of operating system: Ms-DOS,UNIX,LINUX,OS/2, Ms-Windows etc.
