Mouse Cursors

After positioning the mouse on the screen, computer draws the small picture on the screen to make the position of the mouse known is called a mouse cursor or simply a cursor. To make the position the computer comes with set of cursors which are shown below:

• Moving the mouse

              When you position a mouse on the empty area of the screen, you will see the mouse pointer. When a mouse pointer (cursor) is moved on an icon, a tool tip regarding that icons will be displayed.

• Clicking the mouse

               Clicking the mouse always indicates the item to be clicked. Clicking the mouse means selecting an object in windows. In most cases, click always refer to the left mouse button and click always refer means press the left mouse button once.

• Double clicking the mouse

                 Mouse action consists of pressing one of its buttons twice very fast, this action of mouse is known as double -click. Double click is always used with left mouse button: it is used to open a particular program or application. Remember, whenever you are asked to doubal click an item, position the mouse cursor and double click very fast.

• Drag and Drop

                 An action that consists of clicking some where and moving the mouse while clicked button is still held down. This action in windows is referred as dragging. To perform this action:

1. Position the mouse where indicated (location from where dragging to be made).
2. Then click and hold your mouse down.
3. Then move the mouse in the indicated direction (you will always be told where to move the mouse).
4. Once you get to the desired location, release the mouse. That would be the end of the dragging action.

• Right - Click

                  Just like the mouse button, the right mouse button can be clicked. It can also be double clicked. It can even be involved in drag and drop operation. Clicking the right mouse button of the mouse is referred to as right click. Right click depends on the item that is clicked or it selected.

To perform the right - click action:

1. position the mouse on the indicated item or word (you will always be indicated what to right - click).
2. Then press the right mouse button once and release it.
