Data and software security

 Data and software are the most valuable facts to the organization.If such valuable data are lost or damaged, they cannot be recovered easily. So,the data security is very important. software security refers to the protection of computer and data from piracy,defect or corruption.

There are various software security methods. they are as under:

•     Defragmentation

                Disk defragmentation is the process of re-arranging files and unused space on hard disk so that programs run much faster.

•     Password protection

        We can protect our data and software by using a password. With the help of it, an illegal and unauthorized person is not able to open the program because the password verifies your identity before getting the software or data.

•     Backup system

        Data backup refers to making copies of data so that it may be used to restore the original after any loss or disaster. Data backup is done using different backup utility software. Different types of data storage device such as portable HDD, pen drive, DVD are used for data backup.

•     Virus scanning

        The data and software can be damaged by computer virus. So,we should scan our computer regularly to detect the virus. To avoid virus,use antivirus software and update it regularly to protect computer system from new arriving virus.
