Basic functions of a computer

The demand of the computer is increasing day by day. This is because of the versatile nature of a computer.A computer is made up a number of interrelated components that work together to perform varieties of tasks. It converts digital data into the meaningful information in a step wise process. So,a computer acts as a data processing machine i.e. takes raw data converts into the meaningful information.
The basic functions performed by a computer are:
a) It accepts data and instructions given by the user as input.
b) It processes on the raw data according to the given instructions.
c) It stores the raw data before it is passed for processing or stores the obtained after processing.
d) It provides the result of processing (information) as output according to the requirement of the users.
